The Time is Now
Lately I've been hearing the phrase "the best is yet to come", quite frequently. I've also found it very meaningful and inspiring in the season that I have been going through in life. This phrase is very optimistic and hopeful. In essence it brings hope for a better tomorrow, the best is to come soon. This can also cause us to unfortunately have unmet expectations. "The best is yet to come" speaks of the future, but my friends, the future is now. With every day that passes by and every moment that passes by, the future also comes and passes us by. We might not even notice it because we are expecting a giant moment of breakthrough. What if your breakthrough consists of all of the small breakthroughs that happen to you everyday. Sometimes we over look the small wins in life because we are so desperately seeking a greater and more elaborate one.
In no way is this meant to be discouraging, but rather encouraging. Through this interesting and confusing season of life, I have experienced some of the best mini wins in my life. In that precise moment or even to others, those mini wins might seem minute. But as my life unfolds, I know that there is a greater plan and picture where all of those tiny wins will culminate to form my life. That's so beautiful and inspiring. There is a time and a place for everything. If something happened in your life that completely flipped the tables, like in my case, trust and know that there is a purpose. It's easier said then done, trust me, I know. I know that in a couple of years and even months I can reflect and see how everything worked out for a greater purpose.
"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails."-Proverbs 19:25
So friends, "The Time is Now". Think of it in this concept, today is the future from yesterday. We are constantly striving and saying that everything will work out in the future, or "the best is yet to come" later. What about the now? This was so eye-opening for me. I have learned so much from myself because of what I have experienced. I have found my voice, found my calling, my joy, my strength, and I have found myself. I vouch to live in the now and be brave. To step out, even when I might be scared or shy or not certain. There is beauty in uncertainty. You can't plan out your whole life, you simply can't. God already did that and I am so thankful for that. All I need to do is love Him and love others, trusting that He loves me and His promises are true.
Live in the now, because "the time is now". So write if you like to write, take pictures of moments that will soon become memories, sing at the top of your lungs in the car, dance in the rain, laugh until your stomach hurts, love until your heart wouldn't beat for anyone else, and find a way to travel the world. Revel in the beauty of the now that God has given you. Rejoice in the tiny wins of life and be amazed by the intricacies around you that make you who you are and your life what it is. Now is the time to be more alive than ever. Tomorrow will come, let it worry about itself. You conquer today. Let go and let God. He is in control of everything. Enjoy the now because the now will soon become the past and once its gone, it is gone. Be brave, step out! The time is now!
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11
