Hello everyone, I am officially on Christmas Break! Praise! OH Lord, it couldn't have come soon enough. I wanted to share a little bit of writing that I did the past week whilst I rediscovered my favorite words by the American author, Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
Mark Twain is golden. Literally, my favorite quote. I am pretty sure you can relate to having endless thoughts rummaging around your brain about how your life is going to look like in the future, what your purpose is, things you want to do and see, or who you want to be when you grow up (yes, I’m still coming to terms with the fact that I am technically an adult). This ingenious quote instilled in me a sense of wonder and desire to simply do. There are so many things, opportunities, places, relationships, etc. that are waiting out there to be explored but we are bound to comfort or fear. We should not do something because we are scared to fail or because we don’t have the means to do it. Don’t say you want to do this, go there, and be this or that in the future. The future isn’t even secure. Only today is secure. So take hold of your day and seize it. We have all heard the phrase “carpe diem” (sieze the day), so do it! Don’t let your fear, age, or limitations become your hindrance and excuse. Instead use that as a motivation, which propels you to live your life fully. So eat that piece of cake tonight, buy that cute cropped sweater, take a road trip with your friends, learn to scuba dive, and sing at the top of your lungs. Seriously do it. This quote encourages me to follow my dreams. I am in nursing school, for all of you that may not know that, it is the hardest thing I have ever done, but so rewarding. But I have a passion for fashion, travel, and photography. I love capturing life through a lens and being able to share that creatively with you all. Nursing school, fashion, photography, and blogging, those things don’t seem like they may go together but that's the beauty in it. I want to delve head first into everything that I am passionate about, and throughout every hurdle that I encounter; I know that it will only push me to learn and to be better. I want to live and do because I don’t want to look back in twenty years and be disappointed by what I didn’t do. I want use my life for it’s full potential. I am so thankful that I have a God given and God breathed purpose inside of me. He orders my steps and in Him I can find comfort and trust in the unsteady waters of life. So let’s do a little dance, make a little love, and get down tonight. (Kiddinggg) Let’s live life, no regrets… just love (ok I’m done with the song references now) Seriously, live a little people. Enjoy every minute of today and don’t forget to enjoy the people around you because they make it much more worthwhile. Face it, everything is much more fun when you have other people singing at the top of their lungs right there with you.
Have a great weekend!

Totes obsessed with this fuzzy blue sweater! Yeah it will itch for a good 5 minutes but then you'll get over it and relish in the coziness that this sweater brings. I've been searching for a sweater in this color, and I absolute love this one! Plus it is the color of the year, Serenity! Pantone's Color of the Year for 2016 is actually a blend of two colors, Rose Quartz & Serenity. I painted my nails "fiji" by Essie, which matched seamlessly with the Rose Quartz. Viola! An outfit in homage to Pantones' Color(s) of the Year!
