Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello everyone! I have decided to venture out into the beauty world. By no means am I a make-up artist, although I did grow up with a cosmetologist and hair stylist for a mother. All things beauty and style kind of run through my veins. I never really thought about blogging about this sort of thing, but I have received many questions about how I do my makeup and the products that I use. Therefore, I decided to write and share with you my favorite makeup and beauty products, and perhaps in the near future how I style my hair and the products that I use.

Let's jump right in to this post! I am going to share with you the items that I use in my everyday makeup routine. I swear by these products and they haven't failed me yet. Let's get started!

First, I start by priming my face with the Maybelline Baby Skin and then I prime my eyelids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original. Priming your face is vital in making your makeup last all day long and prevent it from breaking down from all of the heat, sweat, and natural body oils.

Next, I move on to foundation. This foundation is my HOLY GRAIL! It is a bit of a splurge, but hey if your going to use something everyday and it will benefit your skin then why not? I personally love a matte finish therefore I choose the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet which gives a matte finish. However, if you like a more fresh, dewy finish I recommend Chanel's Vitamlumiere Aqua. This foundation is water based and a little goes a long way. I love that the coverage ranges and can be complete built up. I don't like looking or feeling like I have a cake of makeup on my face, and this foundation gives me a seamless, thin, breathable layer of perfect skin. It feels like I have nothing on my face, oh the joy, I feel as I blend this into my skin. (You can use a beauty blender or a real techniques buffing brush to blend it into your skin)

The Balm is the bomb. I literally live for matte colors and the size of each of the shades in the Meet Matte Nude Palette are ridiculous. (Sorry for the lack of palette pictures, mine is dirty AF) I use the white color (Malloy) in the palette as a base for my shadows and the peachy (Singh) shade as my transition color. Then I move on to the Naked 2 Basics Palette. I use this to fill in my brows by mixing the two darkest browns together (cover & primal). I also use the color frisk to add warm into my crease.

Now to pull the look together, I always have a winged liner. The winged liner makes my eyes look bigger and much more awake. I use my HOLY GRAIL eyeliner by Jordana. This product is super affordable and so easy to use. I use to struggle with making a wing back in the day, and now with this, it takes me less then 3 minutes to do both eyes. I can't begin to tell you how many of these I have gone through, it is my all time favorite.

Now to the mother of all struggles, the dark under eye circles that are unfortunately hereditary to me. However, I love the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer. I use this to highlight and cover my dark circles, and it does its job. I apply this in an inverted triangle underneath my eyes and down the center of my nose, the corners of my mouth, cupids bow, a line straight down the chin and in a small fan-like pattern on the forehead to remove any minor redness. I have naturally rosey cheeks and lips so this concealer evens and brightens it all out.

Nars galore! Nars is one of my favorites, if not my favorite makeup line. This is the limited edition Guy Bourdin palette and I use laguna to bronze and contour my face. For blush I gravitate to the shade orgasm, if I'm feeling sassy, i'll just swirl my brush in all four blush shades and use that.

For my lashes I use two mascaras. First I use my favorite drugstore mascara, Maybelline the Rocket in blackest black. I love dark lashes. I have naturally long lashes so I love how this mascara just opens my eyes up and coats and extends every individual lash. After I apply my favorite high end mascara, Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir. Goodness! This mascara makes my lashes look like voluminous greatness. This duo is my perfect combo to achieve a dark, full lash look without falsies.

Before setting all of my makeup, I apply my highlighter. Somedays my technique and products vary, it just depends my mood, occasion, and how much time I have to get ready. I have been reaching for the Nars liquid highlighter in Copacabana. I apply this either before my foundation or after my foundation with a damp beauty blender. This gives my skin just the perfect amount of dewy without compromising my matte. If I have extra time or want to feel a little extra with my highlight game, I will apply a powder highlight right over the place where I put the liquid highlight. (High points of the cheeks, cupids bow, nose) If I just want to use powder I will use the Mary-Lou Manizer by the Balm. Literally bomb. Google it, buy it.

To finish and seal my whole look, I use the Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder. I love this thing, and its so inexpensive for its lasting action.

I hope you enjoyed this post and learned a bit from the way that I do my everyday makeup routine and the products that I use. I will be posting more beauty related posts and I am so excited to share them with you! Comment down below if you have any questions or requests for posts, I am all ears.
